At the iDeeJazz May concert, the stage will be graced by a true giant of French JAZZ, the highly acclaimed saxophonist Pierrick Pédron , alongside his quartet!

Pierrick Pédron is one of the most outstanding alto saxophonists in French jazz—an exceptionally talented composer whose musical world is remarkably open and diverse. His work is in constant evolution, always ready to experiment and explore new directions while staying true to his core values: innovation, instrumental discipline, and the joy of communication through music.

Pédron’s musical journey is often unpredictable, sometimes surprising, but his aim is always clear—to provide his audience with a deep and meaningful musical experience.

His artistry is uncompromising, spiritual, and deeply communicative. Virtuosity and modernity go hand in hand, constantly creating new expressive possibilities. Throughout his career, Pédron has steadily moved toward the top, earning recognition both in Europe and on the international jazz scene:

Since 2019, Pierrick Pédron has led a quartet featuring: Thomas Bramerie – a living jazz legend and Pédron’s stage partner for 30 years (Toots Thielemans, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Jacky Terrasson), Carl-Henri Morisset – a piano genius, hailed by Télérama as a "remarkable 30-year-old pianist with extraordinary musical sensibility" and Elie Martin-Charrière – one of today’s most influential drummers on the French jazz scene (Robinson Khoury, Mark Priore).

This intergenerational ensemble has developed a unique approach to jazz. The fusion of seasoned masters and innovative young talents creates a synergy where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

DOWNBEAT: "Pédron’s playing is passionate, multifaceted, and inspiring. His phrasing is thoughtful, and he has a rare ability to balance a bluesy feel with a strong swing. His original music is inventive and lyrical, highlighting the tight, interactive dialogue within the ensemble."
